Cadet Pilot Schemes

By Fajja at 21 March, 2008, 8:12 pm

Knowing how hard it is to trawl through the net looking for every single airline which offers cadet programmes i decided to make a wee list here to share with everyone.

These are just a few courses in which the airlines have a lot of input into the courses and some pre-select student for employment as long as they meet all the standards that they require. The days of full sponosrship are gone. These schemes you still have to find a way to finance yourself, although getting onto one of these courses means that certain banks will give you a loan to cover the majority of the course fees as long as your can secure it. That’s where i’m struggling. I don’t own a house, nor do I have hundreds of thousands of pounds in the bank! Which is why I have made a few websites to try earn some money ontop of my regular job. I shall keep adding to this list when I find more, and feel free to suggest new ones by leaving a comment.

Hey, this is a good idea, I’ve wanted to fly since I was 6 years old looking out of my bedroom window as the tornados flew past.
We all have the lack of money, which is always fun, but, I don’t have any qualifications of a decent level/standard, so that’s where I get messed up. I see you have 75% on your CTC application, Seems like you’ve got quite far with them, as for the flying fund, You may need a few more links :o P
But id like to know really, like how old you are, what sort of qualifications to do you have, Things like that. Do you have a PPL? or is it not worth doing on your own if your going work in some dead end job all your life?

Hey there, thank you for your comment. I am a 24 year old aeronautical engineering graduate! and i just cant find any engineering jobs to suit me! very frustrating. To be honest you don’t need grades. As long as you can pass the selection you’ll halfway there. There were people at one of my interviews who were 29 and 30 years old who got accepted, so there’s still plentytime! Really trying everything I can because the only thing holding me back right now is the money! Yes there are times I think its never gonna happen, but when i think that i just take a deep breath, get the pen and notepad out and start working on more ideas!!! One day, I will become a pilot, and I hope you do to. Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

I’m in the same situation, at the moment i just don’t have enough money to pay my own way.
This is why I apply for every sponsorship/cadet scheme there is! If you don’t try, you wont get!
The thing to rememebr is to never give up. Attitude is everything ;)
