After my latest swedish music post last night, on the radio this morning, I heard them talk about the Swedish band “the Cardigans”. Now that I certainly found hard to believe, but they are indeed from Jönköping. Their most recognisable tuneI think is Love Fool.

Following on my my previous swedish music post, I have found another couple of tunes which have come out from Sweden.
The first one, I had absolutely no idea about, just though they werea random bunch of people and hadn’t really thought about where the band came from. Its Rednex (from Borlange) with Cotton Eye Joe, reaching number one in the UK charts in 1995!
Onto something a bit more recent is a happy bouncy little tune. The give away of the origins of this tune is its name “Caramel Dansen” which is of course written in Swedish.

On Sunday the 27th of July, one of my favourite music acts of all time, the swedish Basshunter, came to Glasgow to be part of the Clyde1 Bebo Beach Party at Byblos! What a night it was, everyone was dressed up in thier beach gear, bikinis and shorts with a couple of grass skirts thrown in for good measure. His performance was very energetic so much so that he had to take off his “m*sterbation” tshirt (his words, not mine!) because it was so hot in the club, by the end of the night most of the guys had their tops off dancing around to the pumpin’ tunes! He even got the crowd singing “Oh Flower of Scotland” before breaking into a rendition of “I can walk on water, I can fly”!!

Basshunter Tops the UK singles Chart!
Published in Swedish
After downloads alone, basshunter was at number 14 in the charts last week, and this week it was out to buy, and has gone straight to the number one spot! Now You’re Gone is a kind of remix of Basshunter’s most famous piece of work, Boten Anna, which took Sweden by storm in 2006.
